In traditional Asian customs, red envelopes are often used to gift cash or gold for good luck. But feel free to exercise your creativity!
Stuff them with other small gift items such as:
Gift cards
Candies & chocolates
Keychains
Enamel pins
Charm bracelets
Travel souvenirs
Mini toys & trinkets
Stickers
Magnets
Lip balm / beauty items
Hunting for small treasures that fit is part of the fun.

No. The envelopes come as empty shells and look charming as a stuffed gift package on their own.
We punch a small hole to add a ribbon, which helps with hanging and demonstrating that it can also be used as a festive decor item.
Idea: string them up to display an advent calendar garland. -
We use a 3mm hole puncher in order to add a ribbon.
It is available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3XJm0Cm
A standard hole puncher works, too!
(If you don’t have a hole puncher, you can still pierce a hole with a needle. The ribbon hides everything.)

Do not mail your Paper Dumplings without proper packaging as they do not meet postal size standards.
They should be packed in standard parcel packaging or shipping boxes with proper shipping labels.
Consult with your local post office to ensure safe and secure mailing of your gifts.

ABOUT US
Paper Dumplings is a creative venture by a mother and son duo. We design and handcraft paper gift pouches inspired by BAO LÌ XÌ (Vietnamese lucky money envelopes).
As a young woman, Trang was a factory worker in the Canadian paper packaging and garment manufacturing sectors. She later transitioned to owning and operating coffee shops and bakeries for two decades.
Robert, a graphic designer known for his playful sensibilities and optimistic nature, continues to work in the media and advertising industry. He dedicates much of his free time to nurturing Paper Dumplings alongside his mother.
Together, they have blended Asian heritage with their Canadian upbringing, resulting in a distinctive fusion of cultures, wrapped up in vintage-inspired textures and playful illustrations.
