  • In traditional Asian customs, red envelopes are often used to gift cash or gold for good luck. But feel free to exercise your creativity!

Stuff them with other small gift items such as:

    • Gift cards

    • Candies & chocolates

    • Keychains

    • Enamel pins

    • Charm bracelets

    • Travel souvenirs

    • Mini toys & trinkets

    • Stickers

    • Magnets

    • Lip balm / beauty items

Hunting for small treasures that fit is part of the fun.

  • No. The envelopes come as empty shells and look charming as a stuffed gift package on their own.

We punch a small hole to add a ribbon, which helps with hanging and demonstrating that it can also be used as a festive decor item.

Idea: string them up to display an advent calendar garland.

  • We use a 3mm hole puncher in order to add a ribbon.

It is available on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3XJm0Cm

A standard hole puncher works, too!

(If you don’t have a hole puncher, you can still pierce a hole with a needle. The ribbon hides everything.)

  • Do not mail your Paper Dumplings without proper packaging as they do not meet postal size standards.

They should be packed in standard parcel packaging or shipping boxes with proper shipping labels.

Consult with your local post office to ensure safe and secure mailing of your gifts.

  • Not yet, but we're considering some form of customization for the future.

We've only launched in Summer 2024 and are still developing our core seasonal collections for 2025.

Our long-term vision is to offer a wide variety of dumplings for cultural and personal celebrations.

ABOUT US

Paper Dumplings is a mother–son venture creating handcrafted paper gift pouches inspired by bao lì xì (Vietnamese lucky money envelopes).

Trang, once a factory worker in Canada’s paper and garment industries and later a café and bakery owner for 20 years, brings craft and entrepreneurial spirit. Her son Robert, a graphic designer with a playful eye, lends his creative touch from the media and advertising world.

What began as a family project has grown into a playful way to share culture, memory, and delight.

“The Fancy, Fun Envelope!”
